Are pesticides taken into account when rating products?
No, Mira doesn't factor pesticide levels into a product's rating directly. That information isn't printed on the packaging, and the only way to measure it is through costly lab testing — which simply isn't feasible when you're assessing thousands of products at scale.
The rating does, however, reflect a product's organic status indirectly. Certified organic products earn a small bonus in Mira, because organic standards prohibit the use of chemical pesticides in production. In Russia, since 1 September 2025, words like "organic," "eco," "bio," and "green" may appear on packaging only with an official state certificate — so the label is a meaningful signal rather than just marketing.
