How Mira works, in plain language

No chemistry degree required. Here's how scores are built, what the colours mean, and where the data comes from.

The score

One number, 0 to 100

Each product earns a single score from how clean its ingredients are, which additives it carries, and — for food — its nutritional balance. The same rules apply to every brand, with no exceptions.

0–24 · Very poor
25–55 · Poor
56–79 · Good
80–100 · Excellent

Frequently asked

Is Mira free?
Yes. Scanning, scores, ingredient breakdowns and recommendations are free for everyone. Premium unlocks deeper tools — unlimited Ask Mira, an in-depth AI Mira Summary, and extended history with search.
Where does the data come from?
From public ingredient and nutrition data, scientific sources, and products our community scans every day. Manufacturers can submit verified details too.
Can a brand pay for a better score?
Never. Scores are based on facts alone and no brand can influence them. That independence is the heart of the project.
A product is missing or looks wrong — what do I do?
Scan it to add it, or send us a report in the app. The database improves with every report.
Does Mira sell my data?
No. We don't sell or share user data. It's used only to improve the app.
