Does Mira analyse products with no nutritional values?
No. Mira can't rate a product when no nutrition information is available for it.
To calculate a rating, Mira needs the basics: calories, sugar, salt (sodium), protein, fibre and saturated fat. These figures usually appear in the nutrition table on the packaging.
This labelling is mandatory for most packaged goods, but some products are exempt. For example:
single-ingredient unprocessed foods (nuts, grains);
herbs and spices;
coffee, tea, vinegar, flavourings, yeast;
foods sold without industrial packaging (fresh fruit and vegetables, loose cheese, deli meats).
Without these figures Mira can't assess nutritional quality, so these items appear in the app with no rating and no colour band. It doesn't mean the product is "bad" — there simply isn't enough information for a fair rating.
